The following are guidelines for news releases:
1. District/Board of Education News Releases
News releases on events and activities of a district-wide nature (more than one school) are the responsibility of the Superintendent through the Office of Public Information. This includes releases pertaining to established district policy, Board of Education business, and programs administered at the district level. News releases of this nature may not be issued directly by staff members without prior written approval from the Office of Public Information. This is to insure that the information is released to all appropriate media and that the content and form are in keeping with district standards.
2. School-Related News Releases
News releases that are of concern to only one school or to an organization of one school are the responsibility of the principal of that particular school. News releases of this nature may not be issued directly by staff members without prior written approval from the principal. This is to insure that the information is released to all appropriate media and that the content and form are in keeping with district standards.
