National School Counseling Week

In honor of National School Counseling Week we are recognizing each of our school counselors. Our school counselor at Frederick Douglass Elementary School is Mrs. Victoria Pierson. Mrs. Pierson serves our school community in many ways. She helps to plan lessons and provides social-emotional support for our students. She also helps to plan team building activities for our staff. Mrs. Pierson coordinates our annual “souper” bowl, our safety patrols, our student ambassadors and serves on our SST (Student Support Team). Mrs. Pierson is a huge asset to the Fred school community.

National School Counseling Week

February 1-5 2021 is National School Counseling Week. We thank our school counselors in the Seaford School District for all they do each and everyday for our students, staff and community.

Food Truck Schedule Change

Beginning today Monday, February 1, 2021, the food trucks will stop their meal distribution operations temporarily for the month of February. This decision was due to low temperatures and unsafe wind chills that jeopardize the safety of the staff, the children and the adults who are involved with the food trucks daily.

Students will be Fully Remote Tuesday, February 2, 2021

The Seaford School District will operate on a fully REMOTE schedule for students today, February 2, 2021 due to the inclement weather. Please make sure students login to their classes for assignments and meetings. Our food trucks will NOT be operating today.

Information for Delawareans ages 65 and over

Delaware is moving into Phase 1b of its COVID-19 vaccination plan.

Beginning today, Delawareans over the age of 65 may register for a vaccination waiting list at de.gov/covidvaccine. Joining the waiting list means you will receive an invite to a future vaccination clinic.

Large POD-style clinics for Phase 1B will begin this weekend at the Delaware DMV and Georgetown DMV (by appointment only).

Please be patient as there are 186,000 Delawareans over the age of 65. Access will depend on supply.

DDOE will share information later this week on future educator-, school staff- and child care provider-specific vaccine sites, but those 65 and older are encouraged to take advantage of the state opportunities now.
Additional information and regular updates will be posted to DDOE's COVID-19 vaccination site: de.gov/k12vaccine.
