Frederick Douglass Elementary School of the Seaford School District is one One of Fifty-seven U.S. schools being named a 2020 National ESEA Distinguished School for the extraordinary success of their students. FDES is being recognized in Category 1 for exceptional student performance and academic growth for two or more consecutive years. FDES is one of only two schools named a 2020 National ESEA Distinguished School and the only one in Delaware for Category 1.

Unfortunately, having a live concert is simply not possible. However, throughout the year, the band has been putting together a virtual winter concert. If you are interested in their performance, an attached link to the concert video is in this post. This is not a zoom link. You can enjoy the pre-made video at your own leisure. In accordance with USDA extension of the Summer Food Service Program that began in September, the Seaford School District’s Nutrition Services Department is modifying its meal distribution services starting January 4, 2021. There will be no changes to the food trucks’ existing schedule. We will continue providing student meals as we have been since September.

Project Kudos is about telling someone they’re amazing and feeling awesome about it. It’s about positivity, good vibes, and acknowledging all that shines around you. We have so many different people and places and things to be grateful for, but sometimes we forget to show it.

The Seaford School District Athletic Department is proud to announce the following honors received by members of the Seaford high School Varsity Football Team. The Henlopen Conference has named their all conference teams. The Blue Jays are represented as follows:

Starting December 14 2020 through January 8 2021 the Seaford SD will transition to full remote learning. This decision was made to follow the Governor’s recommendation and not because of spread in our schools. Our schools continue to be a safe place for our staff and students. We will reopen our schools on January 11, 2021. Please note that the district will continue with hybrid learning the week of December 7. If families have questions please contact your child’s school.

Please continue to practice mask wearing, social distancing, and handwashing. We want to ensure that our Seaford community stays safe over the next few weeks. Thank you.

The Friday night football game scheduled between Polytech and Seaford has been moved to Thursday, December 3, 2020. Kickoff will be at 3:30 at Bob Dowd Stadium.

In conjunction with DEMA there will be a community wide Covid-19 Testing Site at Seaford Middle School. The testing will take place from 1:00PM-5:00PM. This testing is open to everyone who wants to get tested.
