We have made a slight change to our 2023-24 School Calendar. The 2nd Marking Period will now end on January 22nd.

The Seaford School Board approved the proposed adjustments to our school times for the 2023-2024 school year. Please note these are not the start and end times of the school day. These times are when parents and busses will be dropping off and picking up students for the day. We will communicate start and end times as well as specifics for drop off and pick up procedures in the near future. These new times will allow us to lower the number of students on each bus, shorten some of our bus routes, and increase safety for all students.


To our families that have students at both Blades/Fred or West/Central:

Schools will make sure that you have adequate time to drop students off or pick them up and will have a long enough window for parents to get to both schools in the morning and afternoon. We will be communicating these specific logistics in the future.

The Seaford School District will be closed today, June 19th, as we commemorate Juneteenth.

The winners for Teacher of the Year, Educational Support Professional of the Year, and Behavioral Health Professional of the Year were announced today at the district's end of year celebration.

Gia Forston is a student at Central Elementary School. She was one of the 2023 Cason Scholar Fund recipients Sunday in Baltimore. You can read more about the fund here https://carsonscholars.org/about-csf/our-impact/. Her teacher, Ms. Mears nominated her this year and Gia completed an application along with an essay. She was 1 of only 4 Delaware student recognized. She has earned a $1000 college scholarship and can now come back every year if selected to be a returning Carson Fund Scholar where you get to then serve new recipients and participate in the event each year. In order to return you have to hold a certain GPA and submit community service hours and events.

Delaware School Board Elections will take place on Tuesday May 9, 2023. Polls are open from 7:00AM to 8:00PM at Seaford High School and the Depart of Elections Warehouse (Seaford).

To vote in public school elections you must:
Be a citizen of the United States and the State of Delaware.
Be domiciled within the school district for which the election is being conducted.
Be 18 years of age on or before the day of the election.

You must also provide proof of identity and address. This includes:
Delaware driver's license
Delaware ID card
Work ID card with photo and home address
U. S. postal material with street address

A voter may also show other reasonable documents which by themselves or in conjunction with another document identifies the person and his/her address such as:
A State of Delaware vehicle registration card
A recent utility bill
A rent receipt
A signed Social Security Card
A telephone directory listing in a current phone book
